I’m going to start by saying HOLY MOLY.  It’s October.  Where has this year gone?  We are in the downward spiral of 2013 and I know 2014 holds just as much greatness as 2013 has.  2014 holds many more outings and adventures with Helaine, and it holds turn-in as well.  Yes, we’ve got a lot to look forward to in the coming year.  But I digress.  This post isn’t about the future, no.  It’s about the past.

One year ago today as I read my favorite CCI blogs, I sent a short and sweet inquiry email for more information about puppy raising.  Little did I know, my life was about to be picked up by a whirlwind.  In fact, I still haven’t come down from it!  Within just a short hour or so I received information back from my now good friend Lisa.  And the rest is history.  You all know how this story ends.  I’ve been bitten by the CCI bug and I’m not sure I will ever find a cure.  I wouldn’t take it even if I did!

In the last 365 days my life has changed drastically.  I have met so many people who I am blessed to call my dear friends.  I have met people through Facebook, Instagram, and blogging.  I get to talk about CCI ALL the time…and I love that part the most!  I’ve flown with Helaine, taken road trips, and I’ve gone on excursions that all benefit her.  I spend my time thinking of things and places I can do and go with her that will teach her something.  My puppy is an extension of me and that’s the way it should be.  Love me, Love my dog.  It’s a great motto to live by and a wonderful life to be living.  I am thankful each and every day I made that decision to send an email.  That’s all it took to change my heart and life forever.  It’s a very happy one year anniversary to me!

    • Thanks! This marks my 10th year as a puppy raiser. Though I am only on my third puppy, I have been a puppy raiser at heart for all 10 years. It definitely blows my mind how quickly time flies!
